Success Stories on Traineeships & Apprenticeships

Housing:
Under the Ngurrala Housing Project, eight participants gained qualifications in the building trade, six carpenters and two (2) bricklayers. Under the accelerated learning apprenticeship the eight apprentices have completed their trade certificates within a two year period unlike a conventional apprenticeship which is four years. This is because all the training and work components of the apprenticeship was delivered as on-the-job.

Mechanics:
Through the Automotive Vehicle Servicing (Certificate II) training run by TAFE NSW, we now have one participant who was is a qualified Mechanic with a local car dealership (Kenwal Ford), he is our first local Aboriginal Mechanic.
