Success Stories on Traineeships & Apprenticeships

Housing:
Under the Ngurrala Housing Project, eight participants gained qualifications in the building trade, there were six carpenters and two (2) bricklayers. Under the accelerated learning apprenticeship the eight apprentices have completed their trade certificates within a two year period unlike a conventional apprenticeship which is four years. This is because all the training and work components of the apprenticeship was delivered as on-the-job.

Mechanics:
Through the Automotive Vehicle Servicing (Certificate II) training run by TAFE NSW, we now have one participant who was successful in obtaining a Mechanics apprenticeship with a local car dealership (Kenwal Ford), he is due to complete his training in 2009 and will be our first local Aboriginal Mechanic.

Training Facilities

We have a fully equipped training facility & meeting rooms available for hire, for those community organisations and groups that like to get away from the bustle of towns and its noise level, you are more than welcome to come and have a chat about hiring our facility.
